  • Chicha Art: Ancestral Colors, Modern Designs

Silkscreen artist Pedro “MONKY” Rojas uses the same bold colors worn by mountain Quechua people to create advertisements for chicha musicians. He posts his designs in public spaces to raise awareness for the art form and the chicha community.

MONKY is giving silkscreen demonstrations at the Perú: Pachamama program. You can purchase some of his original prints and postcards in the Festival Marketplace.
