Founded in 1956, the Zhejiang Wu Opera Troupe both revives traditional works (some more than four hundred years old) and creates new ones. At the 2014 Smithsonian Folklife Festival, the troupe performed this piece that portrays a nervous bride and the men who carry her in an imaginary sedan chair to her wedding.
