    Both the Dixie Cups of New Orleans and The Jewels of Washington, D.C., began singing in the early 1960s. As part of the research for the Will To Adorn project and the 2013 Festival program, members of these two iconic girl groups spoke with curator Diana N’Diaye about the hairstyles of their youth and the ones they later wore on stage.
