Get Your Festival Gear On!
This year, the Smithsonian Folklife Festival will offer a variety of specially designed apparel for purchase at the Marketplace:
“Est. ‘67” apparel will make its design debut, commemorating 1967, the year the Festival was established on the National Mall
- Festival T-Shirts
- Festival baseball hats in navy blue
- Festival track jackets in navy blue
Limited Edition T-Shirts
- Peace Corps T-Shirts in navy blue
- Colombia T-Shirts in purple, green, and white
- Rhythm and Blues T-Shirts in cardinal red and charcoal grey
Tie-Dye T-Shirts with all three program logos together in navy blue and green tie-dye
The designs play off graphics used throughout Festival materials. Senior Designer Josue Castilleja notes, “It is exciting to be designing pieces for people to wear around the Festival grounds, which to me transform into an organic, moving, and colorful art piece. Each year, I get to talk to enthusiastic Festival T-shirt collectors who have made a tradition out of collecting Festival shirts, and I enjoy designing and being a part of the Festival’s long history.”
