Molokans and Old Believers in Two Worlds

As I sit at the festive table with Russian-American Molokans who have gathered for a house-blessing ritual of a young family in its new, very American ranch-style house in the very American city of Los Angeles, I am overwhelmed by the feeling that I have seen this all before in a small, southern Russian village near Stavropol, at the foot of the Caucasus Mountains.
