Storied Objects is both a showcase and a portal, shining a light on artworks made during the Smithsonian Folklife Festival. Each object contains a story of community, tradition, collaboration, and skill—and the unique experience of the maker on the National Mall. Initially an online exhibition, Storied Objects now presents several pieces for the public to see in the Arts and Industries Building, through July 12. Folklife curator Marjorie Hunt walks us through the displays and the stories behind the objects.
