Much has happened since the first democratic elections in 1994 brought freedom to millions of South Africans. Celebrated across the land, the elections changed the lives of South Africans in political, social, and economic spheres. Focus and energy previously directed into the struggle for liberation are now channeled into social and economic action. The elections have brought a particular kind of freedom to artists and craftspeople.
