Dracula: Hero or Villain?

Dracula is the real name of a Wallachian ruler, also known to Romanian chroniclers as Vlad the Impaler. Dracula is a derivative of his father's name, Dracul, which in Romanian means the devil. According to those more charitably inclined, the father was so known because he had been invested by the Holy Roman Emperor with the Order of the Dragon, dedicated to fighting "the Infidel."
